Binge Theatre

1 Sep 2016 - 15:45

The Binge theatre platform is two evenings of 25 minute extracts from well written plays that showcase our Fourth Year Performing students in the UCT Drama Department. Binge theatre gives students an opportunity to explore material and lead characters of their choice in brief concentrated showcases. These short, sharp pieces give audiences a chance to experience the progress of this talented class. This is an initiative taken by convenor of 4th Year performers Clare Stopford, to explore different ways of dealing with curriculum crises and issues of representation that currently arise in the teaching of performance. The students have also been invited to conceptualize their presentations with the support and direction of their supervisor.
