Drama Department collaborates to help beat TB
The Drama Department’s collaboration with SA TB Vaccination Initiative (SATVI) and The Mothertongue Project is well under way. The first performances of taxi theatre in the Worcester area have started. This phase of the project is to provide provocative skits to people on taxis and at transport hubs, exploring the science of TB. This is an Applied Theatre project led by Dr Veronica Baxter, and will culminate in a street parade in March 2016. The Boland is most affected by TB, with double the national figures for infections, i.e. about 1400 people in 100 000 are infected.
